10 men West Ham United drew against Lyon 1-1 in the Europa League quarter-final at the London Stadium.

The Hammers defended really well to draw against Lyon. West Ham were playing very good football and had few chances in the first half. However, they were forced to defend when Aaron Cresswell received a red card for making contact with the Lyon striker.

Both teams went into the first half without scoring goals. But Lyon had an advantage of an extra man as the Hammers were down to 10 men.

In the second half, David Moyes’ men found the net in the 52nd minute through Jarrod Bowen. In the 66th minute, Lyon equalised when Tanguy Ndombele scored.

The visitors had more possession (71%) than the hosts. Lyon had 23 shots and only four of them were on target. Meanwhile, West Ham United had only five shots, and three of them were on target.

West Ham and Lyon will meet again next week for the second leg in France.
