Aitor Karanka named the new head coach of Granada FC

Aitor Karanka

Granada FC name Aitor Karanka as their new head Coach.

Aitor Karanka has also managed Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest, and Birmingham. He will be in charge of the Granada team when they play Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Aitor Karanka has only five games left this season to save Garanda from relegation. Granada are in 17th position in the league table and have the same points as Real Mallorca, who are 28th in the league.

Karanka will replace Ruben Torrecilla, who is leaving after winning one, drawing one, and losing three of five games as interim manager.

Karanka also knows La Liga well from his 14 seasons as a player for Real Madrid and Athletic Club and three seasons as assistant manager for Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013.

It will be an interesting last five games of LaLiga as there is a tight relegation race going on between four teams.
