Arsenal defeated Leicester City 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium to maintain their champions league hopes.

Arsenal moved up to fourth position, overtaking Manchester United and West Ham United. Mikel Arteta’s team still has three games in hand. Leicester City had won four games and had good momentum, but that run came to an end after Arsenal’s defeat.

Arsenal took an early lead against Leicester City through Thomas Partey. He scored a beautiful header from a corner. Leicester City came close to equalising just before the break, but the header from Harvey Barnes was saved by Ramsdale.

In the second half, Leicester City gave away a penalty after a handball by Soyuncu. And Lacazette made no mistake in converting it and doubling the lead.

Leicester City had more ball possession, but they were not able to create any great chances to score. Arsenal had 21 shots, with 8 of them being on target. Despite having more ball possession, Leicester City had fewer shots, that is, 6 with only 3 of them on target.

Leicester City are currently 12th in the league with 33 points in 26 games.
