Atletico Madrid defeat Cadiz to go third in the table

Atletico Madrid took three points by defeating Cadiz 2-1 at the Wanda Metropolitano.

It took three minutes for Atletico Madrid to take the lead against Cadiz. Conan Ledesma The Cadiz goalkeeper gave the ball away cheaply to Joao Felix, and Felix made no mistake to give the hosts the lead.

Cadiz enjoyed more ball possession and had a few chances to equalise, but they lacked the end product. Atletico Madrid player Reinildo received a red card, but the decision was overturned by VAR and he was given just a yellow card. 

However, Cadiz found the equaliser through Negredo in the last minute of the first half. Later, in the second half, Atletico Madrid regained their lead with Rodrigo De Paul’s goal. In the 88th minute, Atletico Madrid player Javier Serrano received a straight red card. 

But Atletico held on to their lead and won against Cadiz. Atletico Madrid are third in the Spanish top flight, three points ahead of Barcelona. However, Barcelona has two games in hand.

Atletico has now won four games in a row in La Liga and is in fine form.They will hope to continue this form and take it to Old Trafford for their Champions League second leg against Manchester United.
