Barcelona midfield player Philippe Coutinho is having a successful loan spell at Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa.
The Brazilian playmaker joined Barcelona in 2018 from Liverpool. However, Philippe Coutinho has shown inconsistency in his performances for Barcelona since leaving Liverpool. However, after reuniting with his former Liverpool teammate, who is now the coach of Aston Villa, he has regained confidence and form.
According to reliable reporter Fabrizio Romano, a total agreement has been reached between Barcelona and Aston Villa for Philippe Coutinho. The deal is now completed and set to be announced.
Fabrizio also states that Coutinho’s former teammate Steven Gerrard was key for Philippe to continue with Aston Villa.
The loan agreement included a €40 million permanent transfer option that the Villans could trigger at the end of the season. However, recent reports suggest that an agreement between both parties have a deal worth around €20 million.
Coutinho has four goals and three assists this season in sixteen appearances in the Premier League.
