Barcelona clinch victory against Mallorca and move up to second place

Barcelona secured a 2-0 victory over Mallorca at the Camp Nou and moved up to second place in the league table.

It was Barcelona who dominated the game and had around 70% of the ball throughout the game. Despite not having more ball possession, Mallorca had their chances. However, they didn’t manage to make them count.

It was Memphis Depay who scored the first goal for FC Barcelona when he latched on to Alba’s through ball to score it. Despite having control of the game, Barcelona only managed two shots on target from inside the box. 

Mallorca’s forward Nino’s close-range effort went wide in the first half. Therefore, Barcelona went into the first half with a one-goal lead. 

However in the second half Barcelona captain Sergio Busquets doubles the lead for the home team. He scores wonderful left footed shot from edge of the box. 

Later, in the 79th minute Mallorca pulls one back through their captain Raillo. However, Barcelona held on to their lead and takes all three points from this fixture. 

After this victory against Mallorca FC Barcelona moves up to second place on the league table and two points ahead thrid-placed Sevilla.
