Barcelona vs Napoli was the most awaited tie in the Europa League Playoffs.

The first leg was excellent, with the two teams playing an exciting match that ended in a 1-1 draw but deserved a much higher scoreline. Barcelona was the dominant side for the entire 90 minutes. Napoli were fortunate to end the game with a draw.

Barcelona started the game with a 4-3-3 formation. Nico started the game for Barca instead of Busquests, and Mingueza started as right back, and Aubameyang got his first start against Napoli.

Barcelona were pressing really high and hard from the start and that caused trouble for Napoli. A brilliant combination between Piotr Zielinski and Eljif Elmas resulted in the player having a clear shot on goal. Though Ter Stegan saved the initial shot from Zeilinski, he made his second shot count.

In the 57th minute Traore’s cross into the box struck Juan Jesus’ hand, and the VAR awarded the penalty to Barcelona. And Ferran Torres was able to send the goalkeeper the other way and score the penalty.

Later, Barcelona had many chances but were not able to make them count as they lacked finishing.
