Barcelona players were “robbed” says Xavi Hernandez

After around 30,000 Eintracht Frankfurt fans gained entry to Camp Nou for Thursday’s Europa League quarterfinal, Barcelona players felt they were “robbed in their own home,” according to Xavi Hernandez.”

Barcelona lost that game at the Camp Nou 3-2 against Eintracht Frankfurt and end their European Journey.

Officially Barcelona are able to sell 5000 tickets to the away fans. However, there were 30,000 Frankfurt fans seen at the Camp Nou.

“It’s not an excuse, but the atmosphere conditioned us. We were not comfortable. I had a bad feeling from the first moment when we got on the bus at the hotel and we did not feel at home.” Barcelona manager Xavi said ahead of LaLiga game against Cadiz.

“They were throwing everything at us, [the players] couldn’t even get down the tunnel. Then we gave a penalty away in the first minute. It was a fateful night in every sense, sporting and institutionally. It started badly and ended badly. You feel robbed in your own home.” He added.
