Borussia Dortmund conceded 4 against Rangers in the first leg

Rangers defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-4 in the first leg of their Europa League play-off at the Westfalenstadion.

Borussia Dortmund dropped to Europa League after finishing third in their Champions League group. Dortmund are among the favourites to win the Europa League.

It was Dortmund’s 1000th game at Westfalenstadion, but it didn’t go as planned as they lost to Rangers. In the 38th minute Dortmund conceded the first goal from the penalty spot. Quickly, after a few minutes, Dortmund conceded a second goal.

After the break, there was yet another goal. After Ryan Kent had once again beaten Manuel Akanji down the left, John Lundstram added Rangers’ third goal in spectacular fashion.

In 2 minutes, Jude Bellingham scored a fantastic goal for Dortmund. In the 54th minute, Dortmund’s Dan Zagdou scored an own goal for Dortmund, and the score became 1-4. Dortmund did throw themselves a lifeline late in the game. Raphael Guerreiro moved into some space and produced a fine finish of his own.

It will be great to see if Dortmund can comeback against the Rangers in the second leg of this fixture on the 25th of February.
