Burnley cruise past Southampton at the Turf Moor


Burnley put on a brilliant performance and won against Southampton 2-0 at the Turf Moor.

After this victory, the Clarets are just a point behind 17th-placed Everton. Although the Toffees have a game in hand. Burnley’s game against Southampton was Burnley’s first game without Sean Dyche. Mike Jackson was in charge of the Clarets as he is their interim manager.

The home side took the lead in the 12th minute when Roberts curled a beautiful shot into the bottom corner. Burnley doubled their lead just before half time when Brownhill’s corner met Collins at the far post to head it in. 

Burnley had a comfortable two-goal lead going into the break. However, in the second half, Burnley scored another goal, but after a VAR check, it was ruled offside. 

Burnley were in complete control of the game from the start to the end. Moreover, Burnley had more chances than Southampton. Although Southampton dominated ball possession, they didn’t manage to score goals. They missed a few clear chances.
