Erik ten Hag reach verbal agreement with Manchester United

Erik Ten Hag

According to The Athletic, Erik ten Hag has reached an agreement in principle with Manchester United to become their next permanent manager.

According to reports, it was a verbal agreement between the club and the manager. A contract of up to four years is expected to be offered to him.

Erik ten Hag joined Ajax as a manager in December 2017. He led Ajax to a UCL semi-final in 2019 where they lost dramatically to Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester United have been struggling since the season started. Therefore, they sacked their manager, Ole Midseason, and Ralf Rangnick took over as an interim manager.

So Manchester United are trying to sign a permanent manager for next season. Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag are the two leading candidates to coach United.

However, reports suggest that Erik ten Hag is close to signing a contract with Manchester United. Only paper work and signatures remain between the two parties.
