The former England defender will join Everton to work alongside assistant managers Joe Edwards and Duncan Ferguson under Lampard. Frank Lampard was named manager of Toffees on Monday.

Former Fullbacks for Chelsea and Arsenal Ashley Cole has been named as one of Frank Lampard’s assistant coaches’ new managers at Everton. “When Frank asked me to join him at Everton, I was thrilled,” Cole said to Everton. “This is a fantastic opportunity with a fantastic club, and I’m coming here to work hard and try to help achieve success.”

Cole became a coach after finishing his playing career in 2019 at Derby, where he was signed by Lampard. Everton’s first game under Lampard will be against Brentford in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday.

The 43-year-old also signed England midfielder Dele Alli and Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek on deadline day. These new additions are expected to help the Toffees recover from their recent poor form.
