The contract between Ilkay Gundogan and Manchester City expires in 15 months.
However, Manchester City wants to renew contract of Ilkay Gundogan. While LaLiga Santander giants Barcelona are interested in signing him, Man City is looking to tie him down with a new contract.
Ilkay Gundogan signed for Manchester City in 2016 from Borussia Dortmund. He was Pep Guardiola’s first signing. Guardiola specifically asked for him. Since then, he has played an integral role in City’s run of glory under Pep Guardiola. The 31-year-old has so far won three Premier League titles and four FA Cups.
According to Daily Sport, Ilkay Gundogan is poised to snub Barcelona and begin talks over a new Man City contract. So far, Gundogan has started 15 Premier League games under Guardiola, scoring five goals and providing three assists.
The Sky Blues lost 1-0 to Chelsea in the Champions League final, which he helped the club reach last season.
