Inter Milan kept their title hopes alive with a 4-2 home victory over Empoli on Friday.

Inter got off to a bad start as they struggled against Empoli in the first half. Empoli shocked Inter Milan in the fifth minute when Andrea Pinamonti latched on to a brilliant low cross from Szymon Zurkowski.

Again, after five minutes, Szymon Zurkowski scored, but the goal was disallowed by VAR for offside. However, Empoli found their second goal in the 28th minute through Kristjan Asllani.

Inter came back into the game five minutes before halftime when Simone Romangnoli scored an own goal. Soon after that, Lautaro Martinez made his debut for Inter Milan.

Inter had a slow start to the game but both teams went into the half on level terms, scoring two goals each. In the second after the hour mark, Inter Milan’s striker Lautaro Martinez scored his second goal and gave the home side the lead.

To top it off, in the additional time, Alexis Sanchez scored the fourth goal for Inter to take all three points. With the win, Inter are one point ahead of AC Milan, who still have one game left to play.
