Barcelona President Joan Laporta made it clear that that, if they activate one or two of the economic plans before June 30 they will put the club in a healthy financial state.
Joan Laporta spoke about future of Ousmane Dembele and Gavi and also about the financial condition of the Barcelona.
“If we can activate one or two economic plans before June 30 we will have cleaned up a large part of the club’s debt,” he told Catalunya Radio.
“It will never happen again, going into such a dimension of madness. It must never happen again and we are instilling that in the club.
“If Mbappe wants 50 [million euros] net, we could not pay it. Then they don’t win the Champions League… we won’t talk about 30 net.”
Among the players Laporta is concerned about is Ousmane Dembele, who has not signed a new contract with the club.
“He wants to stay but he is very tempted by other options that offer conditions that they may consider better than ours,” Joan Laporta said.
“The offer has been on the table for some time, they will respond to us when the season is over. We would have liked to have an answer sooner, but we can’t force it. We have a good personal relationship with everyone.
“Auba [Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang] has come, with whom they are very good friends. He has representatives who are in control of the situation, but I hope he stays.”
However, there are rumours pf Frenkie De Jong joining Manchester United.
“There are Barcelona players who are coveted on the market and we will do what is best for Barcelona,” he said.
“If we manage to clean up the club’s finances, we will have fair play, cash…
“I don’t know if there will be [player] sales.”
