A Leicester City fan rushed onto the pitch after a goal and appeared to punch the Nottingham Forest captain.
People saw man from the stands rushing at Joe Worrall and punching him in the face after he scored. Nottinghamshire Police later made an arrest after stewards rushed onto the pitch.
“We applaud the swift action taken by City Ground stewards in apprehending the individual involved. “Who will be barred from all Leicester City home and away games for the rest of his life. We will offer every support to the relevant authorities in pursuing further appropriate action.”
Nottinghamshire Police Chief Inspector said last night: “We have arrested a man in connection with an incident that occurred today. “Investigations are in the very early stages and our enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.”
