Liverpool extended their winning streak to six games in a row in all competitions with a 1-0 victory over Burnley.

Liverpool kept their Premier League title hopes alive with win over Burnley at Turf Moor thanks to Fabinho’s first-half goal. After the AFCON campaign, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane made their first start for Liverpool.

Liverpool’s Fabinho scored from close range in the 40th minute. Burnley started the game with ferocity, constantly looking for space in behind Liverpool’s high defensive line, with Maxwel Cornet darting in from the left side.

Liverpool screamed for a penalty after Mohamed Salah was brought down inside the penalty area. Refree turned down the visitors’ appeal before Burnley countered, with Weghorst missing a golden one-on-one opportunity.

With four minutes remaining, substitute Diogo Jota should have added the decisive second goal for Klopp’s men, but the Portuguese snatched at his effort under pressure from a sliding Tarkowski as the Reds saw the game out.
