Liverpool thrashed Leeds United and won by 6-0, with Salah and Mane each scoring a brace, and Matip and Van Dijk also scoring a goal.
Liverpool have now won 9 games in all competitions and they are just 3 points behind Manchester City. Few weeks ago, City had a lead of around 12 points, but Liverpool’s excellent form and City’s inconsistency changed everything.
The Reds played extremely well from the start, as the hosts were awarded a penalty in the 14th minute, which Mohammad Salah converted, giving his team the lead. Later in the first half, Liverpool’s Luis Diaz and Andy Robertson caused many problems for Leeds to deal with.
Raphina equalised for Leeds United against Liverpool, but the goal was ruled out by VAR due to offside. Salah scored from the spot again and assisted Matip’s goal in the first half. Mane scored a brace in the second half, and Van Djik scored a beautiful header from a corner. Leeds United are in 15th position in the league table with 23 points in 25 games.
