Manchester City beat Real Madrid in the first leg of UCL semi-final

Manchester City defeated Real Madrid 4-3 at the Etihad Stadium in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.

Manchester City and Real Madrid played a seven-goal thriller in the Champions League semi-final at the Etihad Stadium. Manchester City scored the first goal against in the 2nd minute when Mahrez’s cross found Kevin De Bruyne in the box for him to head. Soon after that, Manchester City doubled their lead through Gabriel Jesus. 

However, Karim Benzema brought Real Madrid back into the contest when he scored a goal in the 33rd minute. Manchester City easily could have scored more than just two goals in the first half. However, Phil Foden’s efforts were cleared off the line and the other was just wide.

Manchester City doubled their lead again in the second half when Fernandinh’s cross met Phil Foden in the box. However, within two minutes, Vinicious Junior scored the second goal for Madrid to make it 3-2. 

Later, in the 74th minute, Bernardo Silva scored an absolute screamer into the top left corner to restore their two-goal lead.

However, in the 82nd minute, Madrid were awarded a penalty. Karim Benzema stepped up and scored a panenka to make it 4-3. 

Manchester City will travel to Madrid to play the second leg of the semi-final at the Santiago Bernabeu on May 5th.
