Manchester United walked away with a draw in the Spanish capital as they struggled against Atletico Madrid. The game ended with a 1-1 scoreline.

Manchester United faced Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano and got off to a bad start, conceding a goal in the seventh minute. The hosts took the lead when Joao Felix scored a beautiful header from Renan Lodi’s cross. It was a deserving lead as United had seen very little ball at the start of the game.

Atletico Madrid were good defensively and very compact, and they left no space for United to exploit. Atletico had a chance to double their lead just before half time as they hit the crossbar.

Ralf Rangnick’s men were unable to respond and went into halftime trailing by one goal. Nonetheless, Rangnick’s substitution proved decisive, as Anthony Elanga scored a goal for United in the 80th minute to tie the game.

The game ended all square, so the second leg at Old Trafford on March 16th will be tough for both teams.
