Manchester United beat Brentford in their last home game of this season

Manchester United cruised past Brentford as they scored 3-0 and won their last home game of the season. 

It is likely that it is their last season at Old Trafford, so Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata started the game for Manchester United. Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring in the ninth minute for the home side when Elanga’s cross found Bruno in the centre of the box. 

It looked like Cristiano Ronaldo had doubled the lead just before half time, but the goal was disallowed by VAR.

However, Manchester United went into the break with a 1-0 advantage. Brentford started the second half brightly. They had few chances, but David De Gea made some beautiful saves. 

Later, Ronaldo doubled the lead from the penalty spot after drawing a foul on Rico Henry. To seal the victory, Rafael Varane scored his first goal for Manchester United came at Old Trafford.

After this victory against Brentford Manchester United have 58 points in 36 games and six points ahead of West Ham United who have a game in hand.

Meanwhile, Brentford have 40 points in 35 games and they are a win away from confirming their stay in the English top flight.
