Napoli have taken another dent in their Scudetto race as they drew against Roma 1-1 at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium.
Napoli is now four points behind league leaders Milan. Napoli opened the scoring in the 11th minute, drawing first blood in the first half. After the on-field referee initially denied a penalty shout for Roger Ibanez’s tackle on Hirving Lozano, VAR determined the foul. The hosts took the lead after Lorenzo Insigne put the ball past Rui Patricio.
In the first half, Nicolo Zaniolo’s darts against the Napoli defence and Lozano’s runs against Roma’s defence were on display in the first half. However, the second half became more physical.
Tammy Abraham and Gianluca Mancini missed a few chances for Roma against Napoli. Napoli also had a few chances, but they failed to extend their lead.
However, in the second half, Stephan El Shaarawy scored an equaliser after coming off the bench in the additional time.
