Newcastle United came back from behind to beat Southampton 2-1 away from home.

After beating Southampton Newcastle United are now unbeaten in nine games. They are in a comfortable place in the Premier League table. They are now 10 points ahead of Burnley. Southampton had a good game, but they had no reply to the volley of Guimaraes.

Southampton enjoyed more ball possession, around 67%, and had 14 shots, with 5 on target. Meanwhile, Newcastle United had only eight shots, with four on target.

Stuart Armstrong scored the opening goal for the hosts. But his goal was soon equalised by Chris Wood in the 32nd minute. Both teams went into halftime scoring one goal each.

Later in the second half, Bruno Guimaraes scored a beautiful volley to give the visitors the lead. However, Southampton tried hard to score an equaliser but were not able to find the net.

Southampton will hope to bounce back from consecutive defeats.
