Newcastle United moving into safe zone after beating Wolves

Christopher Woods’ penalty was enough for Newcastle United to beat Wolves 1-0 at St James’ Park.

The home team dominated the first half, and the Wolves struggled to create any chances. In fact, the wolves were forced to sit deep and defend against Newcastle United. Wood scored a goal in the first half, only for VAR to rule it offside. 

Eddie Howe’s Newcastle created a few chances against Wolves but did not manage to score a goal. As a result, both teams went into halftime goalless. Moreover, the Wolves only managed one shot on target in the first 45 minutes.

In the second half, after the hour mark, the game started to open up and both teams started creating chances, but they still didn’t manage to find the net. 

In the 70th minute, Newcastle United had a chance, but Wood was fouled inside the box and was given a penalty. Chris Wood took the penalty and made no mistake to give his team a well-deserved lead in the 72nd minute. His penalty was enough to beat Wolves. 

Furthermore, Newcastle United is now in 14th place after defeating Wolves. Meanwhile, Wolves remain in 8th place in the league table.
