Paris Saint-Germain beat Marseille and extend their lead on top


Paris Saint-Germain won the Le Classique with a 2-1 victory over Marseille at the Parc des Princes.

Paris Saint-Germain held on to their lead from the first half and now they are 15 points clear at the top. It was Neymar who scored for the hosts in the 12th minute. However, Marseille scored an equaliser in the 19th minute. 

Both teams were on level terms and had a few chances, but they didn’t manage to finish it. In the additional minutes of the first half, Rongier gave away a penalty as the ball touched his hand. And Mbappe took that opportunity and made no mistake in making it count.

The second half didn’t have many chances as players failed to time their runs or didn’t manage to get the important touch to create or finish goals. It was Marseille who had the ball possession of around 58%. However, it was PSG who had the most chances. 

Paris Saint-Germain had seven shots, with three on target against Marseille. Meanwhile, Marseille had 3 shots, but only one of them was on target.
