Interim Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick has been named as the new manager of Austria’s national team.
After the conclusion of the 2021-22 Premier League campaign, he will join up with Austria for their UEFA Nations League games with Croatia, Denmark and France.
Rangenick has signed a two-year contract with the Austrian national team, which could be extended for another two years if Austria makes it to Euro 2024.
Statements on Austrian Football Association (ÖFB) said: ” We are very pleased that we were able to win Ralf Rangnick, an outstanding expert in international football, as team boss. We are all convinced that he is the ideal man and that his vision will advance the national team and the ÖFB,” says ÖFB- President Gerhard Milletich.
” After a very well-founded and intensive process, we were able to win Ralf Rangnick, an absolute top man with a great international reputation as team boss. That makes me very proud and I’m really looking forward to working together ,” says sporting director Peter Schöttel.
” It’s an honor for me to take on the role of team boss. I’m particularly excited about the prospect of contesting the European Championships in Germany with a young team hungry for success,” said designated team boss Ralf Rangnick.
