RB Leipzig beat Atalanta 2-0 to reach the semi-finals of the Europa League at the Gewiss Stadium.

The first leg between these two teams at the Red Bull Arena ended in a draw. However, in the second leg, a brace by Christopher Nkunku helped RB Leipzig knock out Atalanta. It was an evenly matched quarter-finals and both teams had many chances. However, it was Atalanta who had the better chances in the early stages.

Christopher Nkunku scored the opening goal for the visitors in the 18th minute when Laimer’s cross met Nkunku for him to fire it home. The Red Bulls went into the break with a one-goal lead. However, it was a crazy first half as both teams would have scored more goals.

In the second half, both teams were creating chances, but Atalanta were not able to score against the Red Bulls. Late in the second half, Atalanta gave away a penalty and Nkunku stepped up to take it and made no mistake in making it count.

After defeating Atalanta RB Leipzig will face Rangers in the semi-final.
