It wasn’t quite the comeback Bayern Munich had hoped for, as a late Kingsley Coman equaliser saved them from a Champions League shock against RB Salzburg at the Red Bull Arena. Match ended with 1-1.
Bayern in Europe had been flawless up to this point, with six wins from six in the group stages, including victories over Benfica, Barcelona, and Dynamo Kyiv at home and away. However, they were caught off guard by RB Salzburg at the Redbull Arena. In the 21st minute of the first half, FC Salzburg took the lead with Chukwubuike Adamu’s goal.
It took Bayern the rest of the time to get back on level terms. In the final minute of normal time, Coman scrambled the ball past the excellent Philipp Kohn. The second leg will take place on March 8th at Allainz Arena in Germany.
Bayern is the clear favourite in this match due to their recent Champions League form.
