Unai Emery’s Villarreal stunned Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League as Villarreal beat them 1-0.

A goal from Arnaut Danjuma was enough to beat Bayern Munich at Estadio de la Ceramica. It took only eight minutes for Villarreal to find the net through Danjuma.

Arnaut Danjuma has scored six goals and assisted one for Villarreal in nine appearances this season. The hosts were denied the second goal by VAR as it was offside when Francis Conquelin’s cross went over Manuel Neuer and inside the goal.

Bayern Munich dominated the ball possession (62) and had many chances, but they didn’t manage to score. Bayern Munich had 22 shots, but only 4 of them were on target. Meanwhile, Villarreal had 12 shots, but only 1 was on target, and they made it count.

Bayern Munich will host Villarreal at the Allianz Arena on the 13th of April for the second leg.
