Former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane wants to coach the France national team instead of PSG or any other club.
However, Zinedine Zidane was heavily linked with French top flight winners Paris Saint-Germain to replace Mauricio Pochettino as a manager.
“I’m not finished with Les Bleus,” he said in a special report for his 50th birthday in the French newspaper L’Equipe, via Marca.
PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi recently spoke to Marca about the club’s regard for Zidane.
He said: “About Zidane I want to say something important, he is a person I liked a lot as a player and I like him as a coach, I love him,”
“But we have never spoken to him, directly or indirectly, and I respect him a lot and I appreciate him a lot. A lot of things have come out in the press but we have never spoken to him.”
Howoever, Zidane is likely to replace Didier Deschamps as the National team coach. Moreover, France national team have had poor results in the UEFA Nations League. They are last in their group with only two points in four games.
Therefore, Zinedine Zidane could be the next coach of the team with World Cup edging closer.
